In fact, the Digital Video Recorder is definitely a reason not to be afraid of newer technologies because it's so much easier to use than the VCR. The Digital Video Recorder eliminates the need for video tapes by recording all of the programming onto a built in hard disk. Depending on which model you have, you'll be able to record anywhere from thirty all the way up to two hundred hours of programming. The DVR is also much easier to program than the VCR ever was because you'll have the intuitive and easy to use help of the Electronic program guide to do it.
